Nancy Stimson, Founder of Freewheelin' Community Bikes loses battle with cancer
INDIANAPOLIS - The Freewheelin' Board of Directors is sad to announce the passing of founder, Nancy Stimson, Sunday, October 5. Nancy was peaceful and surrounded by her loved ones in her last days. Nancy started Freewheelin' Community Bikes seven years ago and has been able to grow it's presence in the community and change the lives of students and volunteers.
"Freewheelin' Community Bikes founder and director, Nancy Stimson inspired many of us to use bikes to build competences and character in kids, and to build community among adults," said John Hay, Chairman of the Board. "She will be sorely missed, but her legacy and vision will shine for years to come."
The arrangements are as follows:
Calling from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday October 9 at Flanner and Buchanan, 1305 Broad Ripple Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46220.
The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of Meridian Street United Methodist, 5500 N. Meridian Street
Indianapolis, Indiana 46208.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that you make donations to Freewheelin' or Meridian Street United Methodist.
