Whales need this jetpack to escape Japanese hunt

Fueled by funds from their tsunami reconstruction budget, Japan is setting out to kill more than 1,000 whales in internationally protected waters during their annual hunt.

Maybe the guy who designed the "dolphin jetpack" in the video below could design one for whales to help them get away from the high-tech Japanese whaling fleet, which consists of a factory ship used for processing the meat and several harpoon vessels that make the kills.

Or maybe anti-whaling operation Sea Shepherd will get some of the packs, strap them to some whalers, throw darts at them and give 'em a taste of their own medicine.
