Who knows what to make of beauty pageants? As George Harrison says in A Hard Day's Night: "We turn down the sound and make rude remarks." But, like anything else, it's awfully nice when you win. That's what UIndy senior Katie Stam did Saturday night. The telecommunications major from Seymour looked great in a black bikini, sang "Via Dolorosa" and spoke out against athletes using performance-enhancing drugs. She is the first Miss Indiana to ever win the 88-year-old pageant.
