House Bill 1468 has the potential to bring Indiana up to speed with other states when it comes to fighting animal cruelty. The bill would give law enforcement a chance to clean up the puppy mill industry in this state -- it is estimated there could be as many as 1,000 operating here, some housing as many as 300 dogs confined to cages. H.B. 1468 could be voted on as early as Thursday, Feb. 19. Call your state representative immediately at 317-232-9600 or go to www.in.gov/legislative/ to find out who your legislator is and send them an e-mail.
