Representatives from Indianapolis Waterworks met with the members of the public at Broad Ripple High School on Monday night for an update regarding their plans to address erosion along the banks of the Central Canal. Waterworks representatives said the work has been postponed until March-April 2010, that attention will be paid in some areas to turtle habitat and that river rocks will be used instead of broken limestone. But Mayor Ballard has yet to address the issue and questions still remain regarding whether covering the banks with stone is the best way to deal with one of the city's prime visual assets.
