Before heading to Elkhart to hold a town meeting, President Obama reached out to Indiana's supposed wise man, Sen. Richard Lugar, and invited him to fly with him to Indiana on Air Force 1. But Lugar, ever the party animal, refused to go, saying he was "too busy." Too busy for what? Figuring out how to rationalize the disaster that's Indiana's economy? It's just another reminder that, when it comes to policy, Lugar talks a good game but invariably puts party first.
