"No place like Hollywood
Thanks for your article about Hollywood (Dispatch, “Say Goodbye to Hollywood,” Nov. 8-15). One of my sisters had mentioned it to me as we were talking about going to see The Departed. We each had seen it but wanted to see it again, this time with a third sister and have a discussion about it afterwards. So naturally I thought Hollywood would be the perfect place. We had done this before with other movies. I was shocked when she told me.
After reading the article in NUVO, I went to the Web site and not only read it but responded to Mr. Bulthaup about it. I appreciate his position but encouraged him to reconsider, if not downtown, then another site in Indianapolis where parking may not be a problem. I feel really bad because I lost my job at an airline reservation call center in 2002 so I really had to cut out a lot of pleasures in my life — unfortunately, one of them being visits to Hollywood.
Things are a little bit better now and although it would still be a sacrifice to attend, it would be one I would be willing to make if given the chance. My heart is truly broken over this and I’m sure movie-goers all over this area feel the same.
There was and is no place like Hollywood.
Mr. Bulthaup, thank you for 15 wonderful years and I hope someday soon you’ll bring Hollywood back to Indianapolis.
