"I was reading your nightlife guide and was wondering if anyone checks your reviewers? (Nightlife Guide, April 25-May2) The review for Barringer’s Tavern on the Southside is full of blatant mistakes. If you paid someone to do a review of the bar you wasted your money. They did not go to the bar and I believe they may have stolen their review from an old Star article. The owner has been trying to change the atmosphere of her establishment since she bought the place. She has spent a lot of time and effort to promote a nighttime crowd. To have you use an old review, which does not mention any of the changes that have taken place in the last year, is pretty pathetic.
• The review says there is no live music when they have had regular live music for a year now. I’ve read ads for their live music in NUVO. That seems like a pretty poor way to treat your advertisers.
• The review also quotes the owner’s philosophy. This quote is totally false. Is it your common practice to MAKE UP quotes for people?
I’m not going to say anything about the comments of no HVAC system because that might just be a poor sense of humor, of course they have heat and AC.
If it is too hard for you to get competent writers or reviewers to go hang out at bars, let me know, I’ve got a lot of experience.
