"In your current issue (Jan. 30-Feb. 6) runs on page two an ad from the Indiana Department of Health urging us to be tested for HIV. The ad shows a photo of Colts coach Tony Dungy, no friend to the gay community.
Dungy, a black man who thus should know something about discrimination, is supporting the anti-gay marriage amendment to the state Constitution thus believing gay people do not deserve equal rights.
Since AIDS has devastated the gay community, to have a homo-bigot as part of an HIV testing ad is offensive. This is especially true since Dungy bases his beliefs on the Bible, the very same collection of fiction that supports slavery, the murder of disobedient children, those who commit adultery and those who don’t wear properly made clothing, which could mean all of the Colts players.
Or perhaps Dungy only means straight people should be tested since we gays are going to hell anyway, right?
Dungy should keep his bigotry away from us. We don’t need any more preaching from him.
