"In response to “That Would Never Happen in Boston” (Letters, Feb. 28-March 7): There is more to the Indianapolis music scene than “frat boys” and alcohol. Eric, you said you were embarrassed of Indy when you attend live shows. May I suggest you attend some of the shows at Boulevard Place Cafe or the Indy Hostel? I’ve been booking and promoting live music here in Indy since 2004. I bust my butt trying to get folks out to try on some new music by wonderful acoustic singer/songwriters in venues that are not bars. I would LOVE to see more people come out, more folks like Eric who are fed up with bar talkers, cover bands and flowing beer. I challenge YOU to come out and listen to some real music that will make you think and appreciate the fact that you are sitting in a room with other music lovers hearing an incredible talent for a fraction of what you’d pay at Verizon or Conseco. You will feel blessed! Please, I’m begging you to come.
