The neighborhoods we are featuring in this year’s CityGuide aren’t necessarily new. Most of them, in fact, date back at least a century or more to a time when finding a quiet corner of the bustling city to call home was as relevant to our predecessors as it is to us now.
Neighborhoods like Irvington, Fountain Square, and Broad Ripple have long had identities of their own, as have communities further afield – like Plainfield, Franklin, Lawrence, Carmel and Noblesville. And though each has seen ebbs and flow in popularity and prosperity, each are currently undergoing successful efforts to keep and attract individuals and families seeking neighbors and neighborhoods that make them feel at home.
