Celebrating 150 years! Crown Hill presented the longest-running Memorial Day Ceremony in Indiana! This year marked the 150th Anniversary of their ceremony, first held on May 30, 1868.  The ceremony featured many speeches, including a veteran and former commander of an Indiana Infantry Regiment. The Indiana Army National Guard joined the celebration as they have for many years. In addition to the band concert by the 38th Division Band., a Howitzer 21-gun salute was conducted by the Indiana Army National Guard. Patriotic music provided by “The Central Sound,” a Lawrence Central High School choir.  The graves of the soldiers in the National Cemetery were also decorated with fresh-cut flowers.
