Formula romantic comedy that delivers. Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds have great chemistry in the story tyrannical NYC book editor (Bullock) who coerces her put-upon assistant (Reynolds) into marrying her in order to keep her from being deported to Canada. Then it's off for a visit with his family in Alaska, closely tailed by a suspicious immigration agent. The cast includes parents Mary Steenburgen and Craig T. Nelson, hip granny Betty White and small town man of many jobs Oscar Nunez (The Office). Set your sophistication aside and hop aboard the Cliché Express, because the movie is funny and breezy and sweet. I cared about the characters and I bet many of you will too. Remember, formula films thrive because, in the right hands, formulas work. 107 minutes. DVD INFO: Extras include a commentary track, an alternative ending, deleted scenes and featurettes.
