Trumpeter, composer & band leader Wynton Marsalis and The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra were back for their seemingly annual Christmas show at the beautiful Palladium in downtown Carmel.

The big crowd was treated to many Christmas classics we all know and love, including "Jingle Bells", "Joy to the World" and "Silent Night" and some not so familiar such as "Brazilian Sleigh Ride". Always appreciated is Wynton's commentary, humor and history lessons between tunes.

As in the past with Cecile McLorin Salvant and Brenda Russell, this years show featured two vocalists.  Baritone Denzal Sinclaire was wonderful as was the 18 year old Alexis Morrast, the first-place winner of the nationally broadcast Showtime at the Apollo.
