If you like funky 60s and 70s soul jazz, The Organizers are the band to see.   Comprised of Hank Hankerson on tenor saxophone, Ralph Hankerson on drums and Johnny Dial on the Hammond B3 organ, they take familiar tunes from the late 60s and 70s and mix in a little grease to make each song their own.   The band played a great mix of soulful tunes throughout the first set of the night at The Jazz Kitchen.
Tunes ranging from Bobby Gentry's "Ode to Billy Joe", Stevie Wonder's "Living for the City", "Slipping into Darkness" by War, James Brown's "Ain't It Funky Now" and the Temptations "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" were all fair game.  See these guys if you can!
