Since Pence's announcement that he plans to shut down acceptance of Syrian refugees this morning — regardless of how legal that may even be, and how few Syria refugees have actually made it to the United States in the last four years since the beginning of the conflict — we wanted to highlight different local organizations providing services to immigrants and refugees from the Middle East.
This list was compiled by social worker and friend of NUVO Meredith Coy. (Read her recent op-ed on the social work masters program at the University of Michigan here.) Coy notes that there are many mosques, churches and temples in the Indy area that also provide services. Here's an even broader look at services available to refugees, immigrants and new residents of Indy.
