The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has drafted a new law to prevent the sale of live coyotes to people who then hunt the coyotes down with dogs for sport. Trappers have been catching coyotes and then selling them to operations in Southern states where the coyotes are placed in running enclosures. Up to 10 hounds then chase the coyotes and kill them. This practice is not only cruel, it has been shown to spread different strains of rabies across state lines.
