The Indianapolis Museum of Art has just announced a major score: acquisition of 210 photographs by the artist know as Weegee (Arthur Felig, 1899-1968). Weegee’s beat was the shady side of New York City; in documenting crime scenes, strip clubs and unguarded celebrities, Weegee practically invented what the world would come to understand as noir.
