Fashion Union Station’s Grand Hall served as a dramatic backdrop for the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Awareness Fashion Show “Strutting with Style.” Dawn Dinwiddie of the American Cancer Society looking flawless at the Breast Cancer Awareness Fashion Show. Ann January was the volunteer event chair who successfully raised mucho dollars, $37,000 to be exact, at the silent and live auction, dinner and fashion show benefit last Thursday evening, April 29. Every detail was perfect, from the pink floral centerpieces (compliments of McNamara’s), to the pink pleated skirting bordering the catwalk. Breast cancer survivors modeled garb from The Secret Ingredient while the gentlemen (husbands and doctors in the field) wore choice suits and jackets from Raleigh Limited Inc. down the runway in front of the 450 attendees. Dawn Dinwiddie, community development director at the American Cancer Society, looked runway ready as well, even though she was running around behind the scenes. Her cotton sundress and dainty pink wrap poncho combine the popular demure ladylike look while embracing bold floral prints in tropical colors. And what great thong kitten heel sandals. Jewel encrusted sandals for summer 2004 are a wonderful look to grab onto.
