Best editorial since Harrison
Thank you, Andy Jacobs Jr. (First Person, “Cock-and-Bull,” Nov. 16-23), for the best editorial since Harrison Ullmann passed away. After the Katrina episode, I am thoroughly ashamed to have previously served as a Republican committeeman. Ronald Reagan spoke derogatorily against a George H.W. Bush nomination. He suggested an amendment to the Constitution should be added that no former CIA director or his relatives be allowed to become the president of the United States. Reagan feared a former CIA director with his covert intelligence could blackmail the world.
Most of the Bush cohorts have been around since Richard Nixon. Dick Cheney squeaked through Watergate and became Jerry Ford’s chief of staff. The biggest scandal of the George W. Bush Administration should be the Halliburton (waste/over-billing/no-bid) scandal. Obviously, Dick Cheney is the (so-called) Source of The Leak. I thought it was treason to out a CIA operative and isn’t it treason to take our country to war against false information?
Why wasn’t Karl Rove and CNN’s Novak indicted, too? Karl (Mr. Dirty Politics) Rove is a Dick Cheney Jr., he’s so sleazy, he slips through all the cock and bull.
And I vote NO to ALITO, five Catholic justices would create an imbalance of influence on the Supreme Court.
Hoping to hear more of Andy’s inspirations,
