Holiday shopping benefits local organizations

This holiday season, Global Gifts is providing shoppers in the Indianapolis area with a chance to give back to their community. During the store's annual series of Community Shopping Nights, each evening benefits a different area non-profit organization.

On these selected evenings, 10% of all sales made between 5 — 8 p.m. will be donated to a local organization. Some of the groups that will benefit include Freewheelin' Community Bikes, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Indiana Recycling Coalition and Spay Neuter Services of Indiana, to name a few.

In addition to Community Nights, a percentage of Global Gifts' Black Friday sale will benefit several non-profit programs, including the Interfaith Hunger Initiative and Manos Amigas.

Since 1988, non-profit Global Gifts has provided a unique shopping opportunity to the Indianapolis area. The store sells merchandise from artisans in over 35 different countries, and all proceeds are returned directly to the artists themselves. The store has two Indianapolis locations (Mass Ave and E. 86th Street) as well as a store in downtown Bloomington.
