The Penrod Society played host to over 20,000 fair patrons at the 53rd annual Penrod Art Fair on the grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields. As advertised, it was indeed Indiana's Nicest Day!
For the second year in a row, The Indianapolis Jazz Foundation and Indy Jazz Fest curated the music on two stages. A variety of music could be heard throughout the day with something for everyone including Brett Wiscons, Cathy Morris, Kim Kenny, Sy Smith, the Gordon Bonham Blues Band, the Nauti Yachty's, Tad Robinson, The Phelps Connection, Groove Smash, Pavel & Direct Contact and Rob Dixon's 3 Ring Circus.
Of course the Indy Jazz Fest Second Line Band took to the streets during the fair. The band included Amanda Gardier, Rob Dixon, David Allee, Marlin McKay, Dan Hughey, Kenny Phelps, Thomas Brinkley, Dorian Phelps and Brian Yarde. The Cohen Rutkowski played Friday night at the Penrod Gala.
