Canadian band Wintersleep should translate its popularity among the college circuit to a larger audience with the release of its untitled album in the U.S. this March. The vocals of lead singer Paul Murphy evoke the rich tones of Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder and Daniel Kessler.
Wintersleep’s songs are heavy in guitar and layered arrangements. While their influences are palpable in this album, the record still manages to stand on its own.
Sounds like: Interpol, My Morning Jacket, Pearl Jam, The Strokes
