What to stream before heading out to tonight's shows

It's 67 degrees and partly sunny in beautiful Indianapolis. Gorgeous! Spring! Now it's time to plan your night. You already (hopefully! come on guys!) pick up a NUVO on stands on Wednesday. So you already know Liz Janes, Vince Staples, Vaadat Charigim and Pinegrove are headlining shows in town tonight, and my job is halfway done. Let's finish the job by linking some of their hot tunes and giving you alll the deets on tickets. Tonight's a great night to be a music fan in this city.

Janes' latest is a gorgeous, fun surf country offering. It's available via tape on Flannelgraph and features an all-Indy band. She'll play the album (mostly) in full tonight at the Hi-Fi, she says, plus throw in lots of goldie oldies from her last few records.

If you go:

Liz Janes, John Kill and The Slack, Hen

The Hi-Fi, 1043 Virginia Ave. Ste. 4

9 p.m., $10, 21+

Staples' Summertime '06 cracked the Village Voice Pazz and Jop Top 10 this year — but you don't have to take a bunch of music writers' word (we're a cantankerous, self-contradicting bunch of folks) for it that he's on fire. Listen for yourself.

If you go:

Vince Staples

Deluxe at Old National Centre, 502 N. New Jersey St.

9 p.m., $16, $18, all-ages

This is one of those "I-saw-them-then" kind of small, excellent shows that you'll get to brag about when Pinegrove is headlining clubs and opening for Wilco. (Callin' it now.)

If you go:

Pinegrove, Zula, !mindparade, Super Regal

Uel Zing Coffee, 725 W. Kirkwood Ave., Bloomington

8 p.m.,$5, all-ages

We're a little bit of a home-away-from-home for Israel psych rockers Vaadat Charigim. Their last album came out on vinyl via Warm Ratio, and being one of their label homes means we get to see them more regularly than many bands from halfway across the world.

If you go:

Vaadat Charigim with Elephant Stone and Jackson VanHorn

Joyful Noise, 1043 Virginia Ave.

8 p.m., $10, all-ages
