This weekend will provide local country music fans an opportunity to check out more than a dozen artists, including a singer from “Down Under,” up-and-coming bands from Indiana and Canada, the son of a preacher man, three former American Idol contestants and several other popular performers.

This year’s hhgregg Country Music Expo lineup includes on Saturday, April 14: Jason Michael Carroll, Josh Turner, Bucky Covington, Kellie Pickler, Aaron Tippin and Billy Currington. On Sunday, April 15, performers will include Flynnville Train, Josh Gracin, Catherine Britt, Emerson Drive, Joe Nichols, Blake Shelton and Clay Walker.

Another part of the Country Music Expo is the Colgate Country Showdown. The winners of the three nights of preliminary competition held at 8 Seconds Saloon over the past month will compete this Saturday at 10 a.m. This year’s finalists are the Marlin James Band from Indianapolis, Mike Tetrick from Edinburgh and Kristi Anderson from Indianapolis. The local winner will proceed to one of six regional finals, and the national winner will receive $100,000.
