Like autumn's leaves, the sounds of jazz are diverse this week around Indy.

The Madame Walker Theatre Center's Jazz on the Avenue, 617 Indiana Ave., will have a blues vibe with Harvey & the Blue Tones Oct. 22 playing 6 to 10 p.m. There's a cover charge; optional soul food buffet is available. Oliver Nelson Jr. will perform at the Chatterbox this Saturday.

The Circle City Bar & Grille in the Downtown Marriott, 350 W. Maryland St., brings back the distinctive vocal stylings of Betheny Dunlap Oct. 22, backed up with Glenn Dunlap on keyboards, Kenny Phelps on drums and Frank Smith on bass. They play 7 to 11 p.m.

Fountain Square Theatre's Friday Night Swing Dance will feature the Blue Thunder Big Band from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m.

Agio Restaurant, 635 Massachusetts Ave., has the soft string jazz of Bill Lancton on guitar and Dave Murray on bass every Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m.

The Downtown Hyatt Regency, 1 S. Capitol Ave., has Sunday Brunch on The Porch, featuring the hip pop jazz, vocal, instrumental sounds of The Four Sexes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Keystone Grille, 8659 Keystone Crossing Blvd., Sunday Jazz Brunch has great jazz by Steve Corn on piano and Fred Withrow on bass from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vocalist /keyboardist Lisa Baldwin performs smooth jazz and adult contemporary sounds from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and returns on Mondays, 6 to 8 p.m. Corn and Withrow play Tuesday and Wednesday, but on Wednesdays add vocalist Julie Houston; music goes 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. On Saturday, Corn and Withrow play 7 to 10 p.m.

Maggiano's Little Italy Jazz, 3550 E. 86th St., Keystone at the Crossing, offers light jazz with vocals and piano by Jackie Wood, Tuesday through Saturday from 3 to 10:30 p.m.

Midtown Grill, 815 E. Westfield Blvd., has solo jazz piano by Dave Hepler Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m.

The Jazz Cooker, 925 E. Westfield Blvd., has solo keyboards by Steve Ball Friday and Saturday playing 7 to 10 p.m.

Rick's Cafe Boatyard, 4050 Dandy Trail, presents The Art Trio playing Sunday and Friday, 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Jennifer Kirk Trio plays Monday and Wednesday, 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. and Saturday, 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sax grooves by Greg Bacon take over Tuesday, 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Monica Herzig Trio performs Thursday and Saturday, 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Larry Calland Conga Jazz plays 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.
