Wednesday, Feb. 1
The events of Sunday evening at the Melody Inn have already provided a highly unusual start to the week, with the fetish-themed "Decadence" event featuring the bipartisan beatings of Bart Peterson and Brian Bosma in effigy.
Next up is Wicked Wednesdays, starting Feb. 1 at the Vault downtown and continuing the first Wednesday of every month thereafter. It runs from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.; cover is $3 or free with goth/fetish/sexy look.
The list of events goes way over the top, including go-go dancers, lapdance competition, costume contest, hot wax demonstration, slave auction and much more. Each event will benefit a different local charity, starting with the Damien Center.
"Our purpose is to open minds, to let already open minds celebrate themselves in any way, to educate and promote sexual freedom and expression, and to maybe change a few minds," said Sarah Vain, DJ and one of the co-promoters. "It's to bring people together in one big room and celebrate sex and everything it's about! It's whatever you want it to be. If you like crossdressing, crossdress. If you like shiny shoes, wear shiny shoes. If you're an observer, observe. If you're new, come and be new. We're all a little kinky, we're all a little dominant, we're all a little submissive, so you never know who you'll meet."
