It's weird to say it, because I definitely put away more than my fair share of turkey on Thanksgiving — the traditional kickoff to the holiday season — but it hasn't truly hit me that it's the holidays yet. Well, until yesterday, which I saw 60 tuba players play 20 Christmas carols in the Artsgarden as part of Tuba Christmas, the internationally celebrated (and locally founded!) brass celebration. It was as awesome as it sounds, yes. Now I'm in the holiday zone, my friends. My body is ready now. Bring on the cookies, bring on the snow, bring on the loop of Mariah Carey singing "All I Want for Christmas Is You" in Krogers all across the state. Bring on the TUBAS.
And, in a great feat of holiday synchronicity, local metal band Catalytic's version of "Carol of the Bells" hit my inbox this morning. Enjoy!
