February's First Friday will be extra special in the new Joyful Noise office. The label, which recently relocated to the Murphy Arts Center, will host a public listening party for the new of Montreal album, Paralytic Stalks. The party, which takes place the week before the actual release, will be the place for you to check out their newest work.
The listening party doesn't end when the album's over. Kevin Barnes, the wordy, charismatic leader of the avant-garde group, will be interviewed live by NUVO contributor Justin Spicer after the music stops.
Paralytic Stalks will be available for purchase on a deluxe two-sided LP with a limited pressing of 1500 copies. Cassettes will also be available and are limited to 500 copies.
This event is free, open to the public and far, far away from the madness of the Super Bowl.
