Jeff asked me if I was going anywhere for New Year's Eve 2023 and if I would do a recap. I kept wracking my brain; with so many great things going on in the city, it was hard to choose. Ultimately, staying home and having a house party won over. My fiance and I purchased a lovely 3-bedroom home built in 1910 in the Fountain Square area just a month prior. We had a kid-free weekend, so what better way to break in the new home than a New Year's Eve party with our close friends?
Now, I know what you may be thinking. What the hell does this have to do with Nuvo and music? Great question!! Parties always have music, and this party was no different. We love all kinds of music, particularly anything punk or garage-type rock n roll and everything else in between. 2022 was a year of significant transition for many, myself included, and music was essential to that. Here are a few artists we listened to on NYE, local and non-local, some of my favorites from the year, and a tribute to some musicians we lost in 2022. (* denotes artist/musician from group passed in 2022, RIP)
Bingo Boys -Doctor to Doctor
Iron Maiden-2 Minutes To Midnight (how can you not play this at 11:58 PM NYE?)

We've all gone back to our shitty jobs after a debaucherous hiatus. Now 2023 is officially in motion. The beauty of music is timeless and universal, whether you are raging in a mosh pit, crying at the symphony, or rocking out responsibly in your living room! The music we love remains our saving grace and provides a brief respite from the real world and its troubles.
