Ivy Tech Community College’s “Culinary Expressions Cafe” has partnered with IndyEthnicFood to offer a special international dining experience Thursday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. in the North Meridian Center Campus Auditorium. Students in Ivy Tech’s Table Service and Specialized Cuisines classes, under the direction of Ivy Tech faculty members Chef Thom England and Chef Eric Piatek, will prepare and serve the five-course meal as a practical final. Fans of celebrity chef and Mexican cuisine guru Rick Bayless will want to mark Saturday, Dec. 2 on their calendars. From noon to 1:30 p.m., the award-winning chef will appear live in WFYI Public Television’s studios in downtown Indianapolis to host a special edition of his popular public television series, Mexico: One Plate at a Time. Later that afternoon, Bayless will host a cooking demonstration from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at Clark’s GE Monogram Kitchen in Castleton (5415 E. 82nd St.), and will sign copies of his new cookbook, Mexican Everyday.
Join culinary celebrity Daina Chamness for two holiday-themed “Dinners with Daina” Sundays, Dec. 3 and 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Miss Betty’s Dinner Theatre, 107 S. Pleasant St. in Trafalgar, Ind.
