The first closing over the past week comes out of Speedway with the closing of MisterLino (formerly Lino's Coffee).
MisterLino is a coffee chain that originally started in Parma, Italy in 1991.The location in Speedway, which opened in the Dallara facility in 2012, was the first in the Western Hemisphere. Alongside coffee they served paninis and pizza and offered tours of the Dallara facility.
The news of its closing was announced via the company's Facebook, the message was very straightforward:
"MisterLinos will be closing permanently affect today we are sorry for any inconviences. We want to thank all of our loyal customers."
The second closing was downtown at Indy's last Colts-themed restaurant, The Indianapolis Colts Grille. The closing was initially reported by Justin L. Mack of the IndyStar in a story that said it would close after July 4. According to patrons though, it closed even earlier than the fourth.
For the six years it was open the Indianapolis Colts Grille was known for its standard bar fare and its large collection of Colts memorabilia. The restaurant was part of the g3 Restaurant Group, which includes two other football themed restaurants, Eddie George's Grille 27 in Columbus, OH and Jerome Bettis' Grille 36 in Pittsburgh, PA.
The company has yet to announce its closing on any of its social media accounts, and is still actively using the accounts, however the restaurants website has a message that states:
"Thank you for your patronage We thank you for your 6+ years of patronage but unfortunately we are closed permanently. If you have gift card questions, please email a copy of the front and the back of the card AND a copy of the original purchase receipt, along with an address for refund to Coltsgrille@g3restaurants.com."
