Holy corndog!

State Fair...the Indiana Musical!  is good old laugh out-loud fun. The play highlights Indiana State Fair traditions - pie contests, fair food, a championship boar contest, music (The Beatles!)  and romance, of course - from the beginning of the Fair through the 1960s.

Mac Bellner wrote the script and is the director, and Linda Parr wrote the music and is the vocal director. The cast and musicians are talented and funny, it's community theater at its best.

You have several chances to catch the musical.

#selfiewithafarmer Jim Coy and his family raise corn and soybeans in Decatur County.

I took a stroll of the Midway on my way to retrieve my bike. I'm glad it's legal to be on the Monon Trail after dark - I'm no longer an outlaw going home after the State Fair.

My picks for Saturday:

1:00 - 4-H Fashion Revue Finalist Show [Farm Bureau Building]

3:00 and 7:00 PM - State Fair...the Indiana Musical! [Pioneer Village Opry House]

Nora Spitznogle is a nonprofit director by day and year-round Indiana State Fair geek. She hasn't missed a single day of the Fair in over a decade and the stack of ribbons from entering baking competitions and ugly lamp contests in the  Open Show are among her prized possessions.
