When I need to think happy thoughts, it's all about sunshine, ponies and the Indiana State Fair.
Thursday night that all came together - KC and The Sunshine Band played on the Free Stage and there are herds of horses at the Fair this week.
KC and the Sunshine Band were terrific. They put on a great show and played all of the hits. have been super-impressed with all of the Free Stage Bands.
In case you were wondering what KC's boogie shoes look like...
The band all wore Converse Chuck Taylor's and the dancers proved how bad-ass they are by dancing in these boots.
My next stop was to meet a friend for our annual State Fair visit and to see the horses. I enjoy watching the teams go into the Coliseum - it is a thrill to see them thunder by!
I stopped at the Little Red Door Cancer Agency booth to make my pledge to #bashcancer with a selfie. My pledge is to regularly wear sunscreen. And for the record, I'm not nearly as crazy as I look in this photo!
I met Sister Gloria and Sister Cecilia on Main Street. They are part of the Little Sisters of Poor and they support the Saint Augustine Home they were enjoying their evening at the Fair.
I got to the Fairgrounds late and and went straight to the concert. By the time I started looking for a farmer for a #farmerselfie there wasn't one to be found. The cow barns are empty and the Glass Barn was closed (they're open until 9:00 PM), so here is a #cardboardcutoutfarmerselfie
Nora Spitznogle is a nonprofit director by day and year-round Indiana State Fair geek. She hasn't missed a single day of the Fair in over a decade and the stack of ribbons from entering baking competitions and ugly lamp contests in the Open Show are among her prized possessions.
