Today is National Pancake Day, which should be reason to celebrate in itself. However, today from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. IHOP is giving out free pancakes, and giving you the opportunity to help out local children. Get your free flapjacks and leave a suggested donation of $5 (or $20) and it will go to Indy's own Riley Hospital for Children.

More than 1,500 IHOP restaurants across the country participate in support of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. All donations made at participating locations in Indiana will benefit Riley. Riley Hospital is the only Children’s Miracle Network-affiliated hospital in Indiana.

IHOP raised more than $30,000 for Riley Hospital last year. Since launching National Pancake Day in 2006, IHOP has raised $20 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities nationwide.

For more information about IHOP’s National Pancake Day, visit ihoppancakeday.com. There is a limit of one free short stack per guest.

So, get out there, eat some pancakes and please your palate and your soul. If you don't like pancakes, but still want to help, go to http://www.rileykids.org/donate.
