On tap & growlers to go

NUVO stopped at Crown Brewing in Crown

Point for a pre-taste of their newly tapped bourbon barrel aged "Alkoholika

Blonde Dopplebock." Aging in a used Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrel for seven

months gives this beer a complex blend of wood, bourbon, vanillin, and other

unique flavors and a few more months out of the barrel lends it mellowness.

NUVO also stopped in at Shoreline

Brewery in Michigan City. Their one-of-a-kind small batches for community

philanthropy delight the palate along with their regular brew lineup, artfully

paired with an ever-changing and regular favorites menu. World Cup Silver

medals winner Belltaine Scottish Ale is smooth with hints of caramel; Bavarian

Bombshell is a strong black lager starting with rich nutty chocolate flavors

and finishing smooth. Singing Sands Oatmeal Stout swirls flavors of chocolate,

coffee and oatmeal.
