Lecture Award-winning New York Times reporter Jason DeParle will host a forum on the status of working families in Indiana. DeParle, author of American Dream: Three Women, Ten Kids, and a Nation’s Drive to End Welfare, will discuss his book, a work that NPR’s Daniel Schorr called “one of the great works on social policy of this generation.” Other items on the forum agenda include an overview by the Institute for Working Families on the conditions and challenges facing working families in Indiana, and a presentation by the Indiana Coalition for Human Services on key legislative issues related to low-income families likely to arise during the 2005 General Assembly Session.
