"The second annual IndyFringe Festival begins this week with the opening of VisualFringe, a series of non-juried exhibitions of work by area visual artists. The VisualFringe opens Aug. 4, coinciding with the IDADA First Friday Walk, in multiple galleries along Massachusetts Avenue. VisualFringe continues until the festival’s end Sept. 3 and will also overlap with the Fall Gallery Walk Sept. 1.
VisualFringe exhibitions include a Herron School of Art exhibition at the Beilouny Development, 575 Massachusetts Ave; Primary Colours Exchange Art, where artists exhibit available art (which a visitor can acquire by simply writing on a public display why they like the work); Primary Colours Installation Art, where art goes mobile as it travels through IndyFringe in a unique display of installation art; Poster Art exhibition and works by Emma Overman at Vic’s Coffee Cafe, 627 N. East St.; LAMP Fine Art Galley, 719 Massachusetts Ave.; Precious Metteles Gallery, 884 Massachusetts Ave.; Mike Loudermilk Photography, 882 Massachusetts Ave.; McFee Gallery of Modern Art, 874 Massachusetts Ave.; Franklin Barry Gallery at the Frame Shop, 617 Massachusetts Ave.; and Graffiti Art Pit, where visitors can add to the collective wisdom of the Fringe community by contributing to the Graffiti Art Pit in the 800 block of Massachusetts Avenue.
