Tyler Perry dresses up in old lady drag again to play the fiery granny Madea. As usual for Perry, the film is a sloppy mix of melodrama and comedy with numerous church/Bible references. The title is misleading: While Medea indeed goes to jail, her antics are relegated to the "B" story. The "A" story deals with two engaged assistant D.A.s (Derek Luke and Ion Overman) and the complications that arise when Luke's character comes to the aid of a childhood friend turned junkie/hooker (Keshia Knight Pulliam. Yes, the little girl from Bill Cosby's show!). I was bored with the main story and both amused and annoyed by Medea. My son had a ball. 103 minutes.
