"Matthew Shepard’s beating death in 1998 sparked international concern about anti-gay violence. Judy Shepard, Matthew’s mother, will speak March 6 at the University of Indianapolis. Since Matthew’s death, Judy Shepard has spoken to more than a million people around the world about ending discrimination. She speaks to how hateful attitudes are learned and how schools and communities can be safer and more inclusive.
