Convention Indianapolis actor Anthony Montgomery, who portrays Travis Mayweather on 'Star Trek: Enterprise,' will be one of the key guests of honor at this weekend's Starbase Indy.
With the sudden folding of Slanted Fedora Entertainment, what was shaping up to be a two-convention showdown in Indianapolis for Thanksgiving weekend is now a single sci-fi convention. The long-running Star Trek-themed Starbase Indy returns for its ninth incarnation at the Marriott East, 21st and Shadeland, from Nov. 26-28. The main guests of honor will include Connor Trinneer and Indianapolis' own Anthony Montgomery, both of the currently running Star Trek: Enterprise.
Other actors from the 30 years of Trek lore will also be on hand, including character actors Jeffrey Combs and James Horan and, from the much-remembered "Space Hippies" episode of the original Star Trek, Deborah Downey. Several of the actors will also be appearing during the Saturday evening "Dinner With the Stars," which participants can attend for an additional fee.
In addition, Indianapolis' amateur-but-you-can't-tell-by-looking-at-their-stuff Prop, Effects and Monster Guys - Mike Bolin, Rusty Harrell, Gregg Bowling, Arvil Bowmer, Phil Yeary and George Lucas look-alike George Starkey (star of the local film Saving Star Wars) - will be on hand with their unique displays.
Ticket prices range from $35 for one day to $100 for the entire weekend. For more information check out www.starbaseindy.com.
