Lecture The Butler University Celebration of Diversity Distinguished Lecture Series will present Shoshana Johnson in “Heroism Has No Color” March 30, 7:30 p.m. in Clowes Hall. Shoshana Johnson will present ‘Heroism Has No Color’ March 30 at Clowes Hall; 940-6444. On March 23, 2003, during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Johnson was in a convoy that was ambushed in the city of an-Nasiriyah. She received a bullet wound to her ankle, causing injuries to both legs. She and five other members of the 507th Maintenance Company were captured and taken prisoners of war. U.S. Army officials identified Johnson as the first female POW of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the first black female POW in U.S. war history. Tickets are free, but required. Call 940-6444.
