A lot of things are just funnier when you sing them. Torturing Iraqi prisoners for example. Or old people having sex. That's where Pat Godwin comes in.
Pat first hit the radar with the holiday sizzler "Let's Put Christ Back in Christmas," which sounds alarmingly red-statish, but don't worry. He was a frequent guest and contributor to The Howard Stern Show, which just about guarantees there will be plenty of blue material to go around.
On his newest album, Under the Bed, Pat rocks out with tunes about old folks getting busy ("First Date") and dusts off the always-funny-so-long-as-it-isn't-about-you chestnut "girls who loved me but don't anymore" with top tappers like "C'est la Vie" and "Voices in My Head." Nothing kicks out the jams AND brings the chuckles quite like heartbreak. Recorded on Indy's near Eastside at the Static Shack and produced by Tom Griswold of Bob & Tom fame, the disc includes several bonus tracks recorded live on the Bob & Tom Show. Godwin will be performing at Crackers, 6821 N. College Ave., Dec. 14-18. Andy Hendrickson opens. The show is rated PG-18 for being "cute and naughty," two things any good weekend needs.
Tickets run from $8 to $16; except Wednesday when ladies get in free and Thursday when a ticket is $3 with a college ID. Call 317-255-4211 for show times, reservations or more information.
