"The Phoenix Theatre will present the off-Broadway show Memory House on its Mainstage Aug. 3-13 in partnership with Crossroads Repertory Theater Company of Terre Haute, Ind. The play examines the lives of a mother and daughter, each trying to find her own identity as they prepare to embark upon separate lives. One winter night, as a mother bakes a pie, her daughter wrestles with a college essay question asking, “What’s in your memory house?” The bittersweet and complex love of two women shines through this contemporary play that asks timeless questions about family, identity and independence.
