With a birdfeeder in his backyard, Brownsburg-based Keith J. Hampton is a close observer of his feathered friends. He's also an artist who works in an extraordinarily wide variety of media - and moods. "Pop-Fly" (acrylic on canvas) is a bright and cheerful painting that's somewhat reminiscent of Keith Haring's work and would be a perfect fit in any pop art show. "Nest for Wealthy Birds," takes on a somewhat different tone. This mixed media sculpture features a blue and gold nest on a white tree with plenty of sharp thorns to keep out the riffraff. In "Politics" you find a similar theme but different media: acrylic on birch. Here, the bird with his beak closest to an ear of sorghum appears to overmaster his companions while in "Indigo Dove," (acrylic on canvas) you see a dove nesting in a tree and a shadowy figure of a man walking past. The dark mood and palette of the latter painting are striking in contrast to Hampton's other work. Through Oct 10; 317-844-0005,
