MOCA presents an exhibition of original handmade artworks by Conrad Bakker called United Projects ... Auto Economies. It’s about car culture, capital and power with a special emphasis on car culture in Indianapolis, the home of the 500 you-know-what. The show consists of light-box photographs, a carved and painted three-fourths scale crude replica of an orange 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge and a faux but functional “gift shop” selling carved and painted copies of Indianapolis 500 souvenirs. There will be a reception for the artist May 12 from 6-9 p.m. at iMOCA, 340 N. Senate Ave. On Saturday at noon, Conrad Bakker will participate in an open forum about his work and career.
