Do you frequent farmers' markets or wonder what all the fuss is about? Heart and Soil, an award-winning documentary that has been called "a love song for farmers," appeals to both gurus and greenhorns, and hits Indy this Friday. The 45-minute family film aims for a personal connection to organic food, featuring the voices of small-scale farming families. These happy people share the health and community benefits of buying local, and inspire with their passionate and humane practices. The screening is an educational and promotional event for the new Indy Food Co-op and will be held Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. in the Harrison Center for the Arts, 1505 N. Delaware, Gallery 2. Following the film will be a panel discussion featuring food co-op representatives, a farmer and a "green" businesswoman. Members get in free, and admission for non-members over 18 is $10 -- which is applicable to a co-op membership if you sign up at the event. For more info: www.indyfoodcoop.org.
