Hankering for Mardi Gras and can't get to New Orleans? For good fun in a cabaret setting head to GHDT's Down on the Bayou. The G2 young company delivers a show-stomping "When the Saints Go Marching In" in the midst of the regular company of eight dancers who shimmy and high step through street scenes, sliding into jazz, romping through blues, riveting along Latin, toasting traditional Arcadia and evoking zealous voodoo. Gregory Hancock's fast-paced choreography, replete with instantaneous costume changes, makes this program a pleasant winter interlude. Act 2 revives "Why Look at That Moon," in which Hancock charmingly portrays songwriter Victoria Williams' depiction of small town Southern life and its memorable characters. The program closes with a rollicking Mardi Gras parade. Come a little hungry for a free taste of Yats Cajun and Creole cuisine served as you walk in and during intermission. Through March 1; 317-846-2441.
