Also at Conner Prairie: Glorious Fourth. Join residents of 1836 Prairietown and 1886 Liberty Corner as they celebrate our nation’s independence. Baseball games, ice cream making, sack races, watermelon seed spitting contest, live period music, storytelling and more will be featured, and food will be available for purchase. • The Indianapolis Propylaeum will host An Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration with patriotic ceremonies, musical entertainment, children’s flag and costume parade, an adult costume contest, sing-alongs, children’s games, face painting, Klem the Klown, Betsy Ross, voter registration and free popsicles and popcorn starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5; 18 and under are free with an adult. • The Canal FamilyFest will feature Mayor Bart Peterson hosting a patriotic program paying tribute to Hoosier troops and their families at the Ohio Street Basin at 5 p.m. Plus, musical performances by Polka Boy and Cool Chilies, as well as clowns, face painting, arts activities, games and other family activities, will round out the day.
