Special eventThe 46th annual Indiana Flower & Patio Show will be March 13-21 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, 1202 E. 38th St. Tons of information, exhibitors and workshops, plus information galore to get you prepped for spring.
Highlights of the exhibits include the Grillmasters Garden, a 5,000-square-foot cooking paradise that also includes an atrium, children’s play area, fire pit and fountain in a plush lawn; the Mountain Retreat garden; Evening Garden; and Wedding Garden. While visiting the Flower & Patio Show, stop by the Crumplex Theater, located in Expo Hall, for informative seminars and presentations, such as “7 Steps to a Healthy Lawn,” “Gardening with Children,” “Great Landscaping … From the Ground Up,” floral design demonstrations, soil conservation and much more. The Floral and Artistic Crafts Competition presented by the Garden Club of Indiana, Inc. will be held Saturday, March 13. The Flower & Patio Show will be held in the West Pavilion and Exposition Hall. Hours are Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tickets are $9, children 12 and under free; $1 off coupons valid Monday-Friday are available at www.indianaflowerandpatioshow.com and at Key Bank locations. Kicking off the Flower & Patio show will be “An Evening in the Garden,” an exclusive preview party benefiting Noble of Indiana, a nonprofit that serves the developmentally disabled. Attendees may sample food provided by 25 area restaurants, along with beer and wine. Local musicians will provide entertainment, as will a strolling magician, psychics and massage therapists. Each couple or unattended guest will receive a signed and numbered limited edition print of this year’s featured artist’s painting: Heidi Pearson’s “Midnight Garden,” which will be part of the live auctions.
